Job Title of Opening: Occupational Therapist (Pediatric)
Standard functions of an Occupational Therapist working with children with academic development problems (e.g. genetic, feeding, autism, metabolic). Screen and evaluate children (both clinic and in school) in order to plan and develop program of treatment in order to facilitate rehabilitation. As required consult with other members of rehabilitation team (speech, and educational therapists, psychologists, pediatricians and teachers) and coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities to upgrade child to maximum function. Provide ongoing evaluation during the course of the treatment and maintain required medical and academic records. Develop home programs and strategies to improve academic performance. Coordinate with teachers to implement recommendations. Provide in service to other affiliated professionals to enhance employer's referral pool. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy and two years of experience. Requires California Occupational Therapy License.
